I jinxed it. I said his sleep patterns couldn't get any worse, but they did. SPT decided to wake every hour after midnight, and woke up at 3 am. Just woke up. Done. Done sleeping for the night. My hubby, the amazing guy that he is, took SPT to "the chair" (affectionately known as the "Chair of Slumber") until 7 am when SPT finally fell asleep in time for the alarm to go off. Who am I kidding? There is no alarm anymore! That's called SPT.
What caused this mind-numbing sleep pattern? Halfway through the day, I realized SPT was drooling and chewing on his fingers constantly. One millilitre of Tylonel could have brought a little shut-eye to my life. But really, when you're this far behind on your sleep, what difference does a couple of hours make?

Co-sleeping at 9 months
It's 8:30 am and we've been up for over two and a half hours already. Not that we actually slept much from 1 am onward. SPT woke every 40 minutes after midnight. Hubby and I had decided to alternate hourly wakings, so SPT was nursed to sleep one hour by me, and snuggled to sleep the next hour by dad. The three nights previous, I nursed SPT to sleep every hour, and my nipples are so sore.
While SPT was playing on the floor, I googled "chronic sleep deprivation." How long can a person go without more than 2 consecutive hours of sleep at a time? It's been 9 months of this craziness, and I'm wondering when I'll lose it. How does SPT manage to have so much energy with this insane sleep pattern?
